You might think I’m writing an angry post about the GRE Writing section because I got a lousy score, consider myself a “good” writer, and feel a little entitled because I had a ballin’ GPA as an English major.
And you’d be right.
If it’s the same as when I took it, the GRE writing section is scored by computer. There’s an urban legend that if you write at too high a level (vocab/syntax wise) you’ll get points taken off because the language engine in the computer won’t understand you.
Of course, that could be sour grapes from those people, but the Writing section is totally worthless.
